Our heritage
Seeing a gap in the market, Jeff Hunton set up Hunton Powerboats in 1979 to design and build genuine high performance powerboats with accomodation. He was triumphantly rewarded the following year, when his first boat, the Gazelle 23 won Cruiser Class A in the 1980 British Offshore Powerboat Championship. Jeff went on to win the title six times.
Over the following years faster and larger models were developed. Their performance, handling and uncompromising build quality brought continued success in Offshore racing.
The boats exceptional characteristics led to forays in law enforcement and defence, producing high speed RIB interceptors for the Royal Gibraltar Police to combat drug smuggling and a fleet of high performance 47ft oil field patrol boats for the Abu Dhabi Defence Force.
